Privacy Policy
Dose is an iPhone app for keeping a log of glucose, insulin, medications and meals. It's made by Emerson, a student, working independently (not as a company). This policy covers the Dose iPhone app and this website, doselog.dev.
In short: what you log in the app stays on your iPhone, and I never receive it. This website keeps only the email address you give to join the beta, plus one optional answer if you allow it. I never sell anything, and there are no ads, analytics or tracking.
The iPhone app
Everything you enter stays on your iPhone. It isn't sent to me or anyone else. The app stores:
- Health information you log: glucose readings, insulin doses, medications you mark as taken, meals and carbs, notes, and your target range and safety settings.
- Readings from Apple Health, if you turn that on: the app only reads blood glucose and never writes to Apple Health. The import happens on your iPhone.
- Your local account: your email address, your name if you add one, and your password, which is kept only as a protected hash in the iPhone's Keychain. This account lives on your iPhone; it isn't an account on a server.
- Your age group: 13 to 17, or 18 or older. Never your birthday.
- Consent records: what you agreed to, and when.
Your data is encrypted by iOS, can be locked with Face ID or your passcode, and isn't included in iCloud backups. That also means that if you lose your iPhone or delete the app, your log can't be recovered, so download a copy from time to time.
You can download everything as a file, withdraw consent, or delete everything at any time in the app under Settings › Account & Privacy. When you share a downloaded file, you decide where it goes.
This website
Beta signup. If you join the beta, I keep your email address and the date you signed up. I use your email only to send the beta invite and one short survey, and I'll delete it whenever you ask. The optional "I'm…" answer is kept only if you tick the box that allows it; because it can say something about your health, it's covered by the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy. I delete the whole signup list when the beta ends, and no later than December 31, 2027.
Where it's kept. Signups are stored in Cloudflare, the service that hosts this website. I don't store your IP address with your signup. To stop automated abuse, the form counts attempts from each connection for one minute; that count isn't stored.
Website visits. Like any website, Cloudflare receives technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver and protect the site. I don't use these to identify you. This site doesn't use cookies, ads, analytics or tracking, and it doesn't load code or fonts from other sites.
Email. If you email me, or when I send the beta invite, the messages go through Gmail (Google). I use what you send only to reply.
Sharing
I don't sell or rent your information, and I don't share it for advertising. The only outside services involved are Cloudflare (hosting the website and the signup list) and Google (email). I'd only share information if the law required it.
Children and teens
Dose is for people 13 and older in the United States. It isn't for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up for the beta, email me and I'll delete it. If you're 13 to 17, please join and use Dose with a parent or guardian.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the signup information I hold about you by emailing dose.app26@gmail.com. I'll reply within 45 days, and usually much sooner. For information in the app, use Settings › Account & Privacy, since only you have it.
Do Not Track. This site doesn't track you across websites, so it works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update the date at the top. If a future version of the app would send your health data anywhere, for example to back it up or sync it, I'll explain that and ask for your permission in the app first.
